I call it looking through the lens of opportunity.  Shawn Achor, who spent 10 years at Harvard, calls it positive psychology and reports that positivity determines 90% of our long term happiness.  Yes. 90%.  If that weren’t enough, research shows that employees who are in a positive state are more effective, productive, and creative than those who are in a negative, stressed, or neutral state.  If you’ve listened to this interview, you’ll hear that Mr. Achor and I like some of the same tools for creating positivity, like journaling, exercise, and gratitude.
